Watch: Sacramento, Other CA Counties Leave Most Restrictive COVID-19 Tier

California Health and Human Services Secretary Dr. Mark Ghaly hosted a video conference on Tuesday to provide an update on COVID-19 in California. The headline from the briefing is the movement of several counties from the most restrictive, purple coronavirus tier to the less restrictive red tier.

Butte, Contra Cost, Fresno, Sacramento, San Joaquin, Santa Barbera, and Yolo counties all made enough progress in fighting the spread of the virus to earn the right to allow more businesses to open for indoor operations. That includes all retailers at 50 percent capacity; churches at 25 percent capacity or 100 people, whichever is lower; gyms and fitness centers at 10 percent capacity.
