Arson investigators say they believe two 13-year-old boys started a fire at the Porterville Library Tuesday that killed at least one firefighter. Multiple calls were made by witnesses who claimed to have seen two teens running away from the library around the time the fire broke out.
The Porterville Fire Department confirmed that 35-year-old Captain Raymond Figueroa was killed in the fire and 25-year-old firefighter Patrick Jones was unaccounted for on Wednesday.
The teens were arrested and are booked into the Porterville Juvenile Justice Center on charges of arson, conspiracy, and manslaughter.
