Ethanol advocates are hoping President Trump announces approval of year-round E15 sales, when Trump visits Council Bluffs, Iowa, next week.
Reports of a possible E15 announcement, are gaining new traction and Iowa U.S. Senator Chuck Grassley, a central player in the fight with oil refineries over year-round E-15 sales and compliance credits called RINS, says there’s reason to be hopeful:
But Grassley has pressed hard for a decision in White House meetings with the president, and urged the administration to “fish or cut bait,” “do it or get off the pot”:
Grassley claims oil refiners have gotten what they want—lower RIN prices through EPA compliance waivers. Now, he argues, it’s time the ethanol industry and corn growers also get some help.
