Two varieties of BelVita breakfast sandwiches have been voluntarily recalled due to possible peanut contamination. Mondelēz Global LLC said that a routine inspection uncovered the presence of peanut protein residue on the line used to make the Dark Chocolate Creme and Cinnamon Brown Sugar with Vanilla Creme breakfast sandwiches.

The sandwiches were sold at grocery stores across the country and have a "best when used by" date before and including Feb. 25, 2024.

"People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to peanut may risk serious or life-threatening allergic reactions by consuming these products," the FDA warned.

The company said that it has received three unconfirmed reports of people suffering from an allergic reaction after eating the sandwiches.

Consumers who have a peanut allergy are advised to throw away the sandwiches.

No other BelVita products are subject to recall.
