Much needed help for farmers in coping with stress

In good years, America’s farmers have a lot to deal with. When the down years begin to pile up like they are now, those stress levels only get higher. Josie Rudolphi (Roo-DOLL-fee) is an Assistant Professor at the University of Illinois. Being a farmer’s daughter herself, she knows firsthand the stresses of the occupation. Rudolphi advocates for the HERD method of stress management:

Rudolphi says agriculture needs to “become a tight-knit community again” during times like this and make sure to check in on each other. Ask each other “how are you doing” and be ready for an honest response.
