Sacramento To Feature First High-Rise Apartment Building Near Golden 1

Sacramento will soon feature it's first high-rise building for rental apartments.

The Kings purchased the site at capital mall and third street in downtown Sacramento, across the street from Crocker Park. Formerly known as Parking Lot X, the more than 2.5 acre site will feature an 80,000 square foot office building, along with 28 floors of luxury apartments. Southern Land Company and the Sacramento Kings plan to break ground on the project in 2023, aiming to have it complete by 2025. “We look forward to showcasing Southern Land Company’s hallmarks of thoughtful design and best-in-class hospitality as this project comes to life and eventually welcoming residents to enjoy an elevated living experience,” said SLC Founder and Tim Downey in a release.

In addition to SLC’s expansion into Sacramento, the company has an office in Vallejo and is redeveloping the historic Mare Island naval shipyards there.
