Slipknot Drummer Shawn Crahan's Daughter Dead From Apparent Overdose

56th GRAMMY Awards - Arrivals

Over the weekend, Slipknot drummer and founding member Shawn Crahan had to say goodbye to his youngest daughter Gabrielle, who passed away on May 18. Now, TMZ is reporting the 22-year-old died from what appears to be an apparent drug overdose.

Los Angeles police and fire department responded to a possible OD at a Hollywood home, and found Gabrielle, who had a history of drug use. CPR was administered but didn't work, and she was pronounced dead on the scene by paramedics. Drug paraphernalia and evidence of narcotic use were also found. The last Instagram post she shared, just days before her death, suggested that she had celebrated five months of sobriety.

The heavy metal percussionist, whose stage name is "clown," broke the sad news to his social media followers on Sunday (May 19). On Wednesday (May 22), he shared the funeral arrangements — she will be laid to rest in Des Moines, Iowa, where the family is from, on May 26 — as well as ways for fans to send flowers or cards. He thanked the community for its love and support. "You have all proven that there is empathy, positivity, & strength in this community that we call humanity here on Earth," he wrote.
